How It Works: Transforming Your Garage
1. Home Garage Conversion Support
Eligible residents receive up to $10,000 to convert a residential garage into a compliant business space.
Conversions meet basic safety and accessibility standards.
2. Equipment & Startup Funding
An additional $10,000 grant supports startup equipment and operational essentials (e.g., ovens, tools, craft stations, workbenches, etc.).
3. Business Development & Mentorship
Participants receive access to local business mentorship and micro-enterprise training.
4. Civic Integration Pathway
Municipalities adopt a universal special provision for Garage Shops through AMO (Association of Municipalities of Ontario) endorsement, enabling consistent policy adoption across towns and cities.
